Free Tree Walk: Morton Park (Rain Date)

Be inspired by one of Newport’s grandest collections of trees, beautiful Morton Park.

Living Collections Manager Joe Verstandig will take us through the carefully and tactfully planted park, originally designed by Frederick Law Olmstead, with some of the trees included in the original design still extant. We’ll discuss late season interest, pondering on some deciduous conifers, talk propagation and grafting, and look up at some of Newport’s most noble plants. We will be walking the majority of the park. Please dress appropriately. Water is encouraged.

This walk has been rescheduled to Friday, 9/1, from the original 8/25 date due to inclement weather.
